There are different categories of types of blenders you must be aware when searching for your next blender. Choosing a blender can be very confusing if you don’t know what to look for. For those who have blenders they use often realize how great an appliance it is – for those who never have, they are missing out. You can make an endless amount of fruit and vegetable smoothies, soups, protein shakes, salad dressings, milk shakes and anything else you can think of. If you do purchase a blender, you are opening a whole new culinary world to yourself surely.

There are basically two types of blenders – the hand held blender and work top blender. What is the difference between the two types of blenders? It is pretty obviously both blenders looks entirely different. The work top blenders are the more tradition blenders you seen for your entire life. Hand held blenders are relatively new to the market place. Hand held blenders typically range in price from $30-$40. Obviously the higher quality hand held blenders will have more speed level, several attachment options and wattage use.

Hand held blenders are less powerful then work top blenders. The average work top blender will range between 300-500 watts while a hand held blenders will range somewhere around 200 watts. The speed will range between models also. If you are frequently find yourself wanting more interesting drinks then purchasing a quality, high speed blender is for you.

Different Kinds of Food Blenders

Keep in mind what you intend to use the blender for. If you plan on crushing ice then a more powerful blender will be needed. It takes a tremendous amount of force to crush ice. The majority of the problems that comes with blenders are their weak ice crushing capacities. If you do intend to crush ice in your blender read many online reviews to ensure you are purchasing a quality blender.

Some blenders come with a small opening on top to pour ingredients while you blend – others have a standard lid you must take off and on.

Blenders today are made with very sleek, modern designs that will match any kitchen decor. Look for blenders that are stainless steel and are made of glass rather then plastic. Plastic blenders may do the job but only for a short amount of time. You are better off paying more for a quality blender then purchasing several less expensive models in the same time frame.
