Oster Blenders have different variants. They are Beehive Blenders, Glass jar Blenders and Fusion Blenders which function both as food processors as well as traditional blenders. Beehive Blenders are usually used for crushing ice and for lighter usage like making smoothies and milk shakes. Glass jar blenders also serve to similar purposes. Fusion blenders are used for food processing, blending juices as well as for conventional usage. i.e making smoothies, crushing ice cubes and preparing beverages.

There are a number of accessories that suit these models. They can broadly be categorized as Jars, blades, ready to use containers, seal rings and combination kits. There are also certain accessories that can be commonly used with any model. These accessories augment the usage convenience from the customer point of view and cost advantage from the manufacturer point of view.

Jars can plastic jars, glass jars or mini-jars that fit different models. These jars typically hold different volumes of stuff and can be used with all models of Oster blenders. They have graduated markings on them indicating the volumes as well as replacement lids with fill caps in order to fill the jar with fruit or vegetables while blending. Blades are of two different models. There is the one which crushes ice and coffee and the other which is used for making milk shakes and smoothies. They are made of high quality stainless steel and are durable.

Ready-to-use containers are those that can be used on the go. Oster has one such accessory called Blend-N-Go accessory cup. The cup can be used with the blender to blend and after that can be used as a storage container which serves as a refresher when traveling. It has a lid with a liner and can be used in most car cup holders.

Other accessories include Bottom caps, Filler caps and Sealing rings or O-rings. Bottom caps fit to the bottom of the jars. Filler caps are used with the lids of the jars, sealing rings serve to prevent liquid from leaking into the machine. It fits between the bottom cap and the jar.

There is one other accessory called Blender Accessory Refresh Kit that contains one bottom cap, one filler cap, one white cube lid, two sealing rings and one ice crusher blade. This can be used when one has to overhaul the machine after continuos usage. These accessories are usually sold at authorized outlets and cannot be found elsewhere.

The choice of an accessory depends on two major factors. Durability and adaptability. As the accessories are made under controlled conditions, they would definitely meet the durability criterion. The adaptability criterion has to be checked by the user before going for an accessory. It would make things easier, the product well maintained and ultimately the best value for the money spent on it.
