The “Vita mix 5000” blender is basically a more powerful appliance than its sibling the “Vita Mix 4500”. It has most of its (vita mix 4500) features and also has additional characteristics that make it an extremely useful kitchen appliance. It can make consistent smoothies, soups, nut butters, soups and also ice creams in a few minutes. Another variant called the “Vita mix 5000 super” blender comes with an extra “Dry Blade” container mainly used for pulverizing nuts and whole grain ingredients.

Whether using it for smoothies or frozen concoctions or hot soups, salads or for dry mixtures, the Vita Mix 5000 is highly competent and makes them consistent whatever the quantity being prepared. However, the appliance in not recommended for commercial establishments given the continuos running of the motor which may lead to burn out and other technical problems as the appliance is not actually manufactured for commercial usage.

Needless to say, the blender is a speedy food processor for the health conscious lot. It actually does everything right from pulverizing ice to making smooth and consistent soups and smoothies. It crushes whole vegetables or fruit into a consistent pulp thereby retaining their nutritive vale. It also powders whole grain into a consistent texture. It is also used for making delicious ice creams, cappuccinos and other such beverages.

Coming to the technical specifications, the Vita Mix 5000 is equipped with a 2.2 Horse power motor with variable speed control panel on its surface. The Variable speed control comes with a knob that can be set to Low, Medium or High as the case may be and there is an additional speed button which works as a sort of a turbo button that picks up immediate high speed in times of need. The blender comes with a 64 ounce polycarbonate jar with wet blades. It has superior durability and is unbreakable. The Jar’s lid is spill-proof and also has a removable plug for adding ingredients or water while blending.

On the flip side, the blender is noisy and not portable. Given the power of the machine, it is bound to be heavy and blenders of the same class as this are even noisier. A case in point is the Champ HP3 Blender from K-TEC. It is supposed to be noisier than the Vita Mix 5000 but has a much more powerful motor than what the Vita Mix blender has. Here, the choice stays simple. If one wants a powerful blender, one has to compromise on the weight and the sound factor.

On the whole, The Vita Mix 5000 blender is a machine with a kind of a brute force as far as its usage from an “individual kitchen” point of view is taken, as pointed earlier; the machine is unsuitable for commercial purposes.
